Echuca is a town set on the banks of the river Murray, just across the river from the New South Wales border town of Moama, it is less than 90km from Bendigo and is therefore a perfect day trip.

Echuca offers many exciting attractions and activities to visitors and tourists, and a perfect place to spend a fun-filled day. There are many museums and the historic port of Echuca. You can hire a canoe or take a carriage ride, go for a riding adventure or perhaps a water ski lesson, explore a maze or play a round of mini golf, ten pin bowling or go for a swim.

Visit the Fauna Park, take an eco tour through the wetlands, explore a food and wine trail that will re-ignite your taste buds.

Food and Wine Trail

Echuca Moama has gained an enviable reputation for its local foods and wines, you can experience its many diverse wonders along the Food and Wine Trail. The Trail leads to local wineries, producers, restaurants and businesses that offer intimate food and wine experiences.

The Echuca Moama district has more than 80 hectares of vines flourishing with new growth every year, the region is best known for its shiraz, cabernet sauvignon and chardonnay.


Only 15km from Echuca is Cape Horn Vineyard, accessible by car or boat, and you will be rewarded with a delightful experience tasting their award winning wines at cellar door. The grounds are perfect for enjoying a picnic lunch and there are BBQ’s available. A giant chess board, boule or croquet are also available for visitors. Cape Horn produces high quality boutique wines.

St Anne’s Vineyard is located in the Perricoota vineyards, the area is steeped in history and you can step back in time in the Echuca Post Precinct and delight your taste buds at the cellar door located right amongst the steam and horse carriages.

Echuca is a treat for visitors as there are so many things to do or see, one day may not be enough for your visit. Being based in Bendigo it is only a short day trip so perhaps you can go back the day after.
